I was primarily a "Competition Surfer" winning my 1st major tittle in 1971 ....European Under 18 champion.

My desire to travel overtook all that, surfing all those place that were considered "Out There" over the next 15 years or so, failing to find a shaper who suited me, I started to shape my own boards, that was way back in the late 80's / early 90's.

I was taken on in a big UK surf board factory as the Shadow Shaper, where over a 5 year period I honed my shaping skills. Branching out in the late 90's to shape under my own Longboard Logo....KB SURFBOARDS.

The re-birth of the Modern Longboard was now firmly established, and my desire to compete again was strong, making the podium in most of the Long Board events that I entered.

I was approached by Bear Surfboard.... who were looking for a Shaper who had some Competition Credibility to be the new Bear Shaper for Europe, which I did for 12 years from 2002 until 2014.

I shape in the UK and also Jeffreys Bay South Africa, where I stay for the cold UK winter months.
