Board of the week! #37

According to the responses we received, it's clear that surfboard rentals and the option to travel without carrying your own board are highly valued within the surfing community. An overwhelming majority of respondents (84%) believe that trying out surfboards before purchasing is essential to finding the perfect fit.

Furthermore, 67.9% expressed their willingness to travel without their own boards if they could reserve and rent surfboards at their destination.

Another crucial aspect that surfers highlighted was the importance of rental insurance coverage. A significant 77.8% of respondents expressed their desire for rental insurance, as it helps avoid the hassle and costs associated with potential dings or damages.

Based on these findings, we encourage surfboard shapers and surf shops to leverage the free features offered on Surf Neutral. By providing surfboard rentals, you can tap into significant market demand and attract customers who prioritize trying out boards before making a purchase. If renting out your surfboards isn't your preference, you can still allow people to try them while keeping your boards protected from dings by providing surfers with your exclusive Surf Neutral discount code for rental prices.
Now, let's turn our attention to The Goat Shed—a not-for-profit collaboration that embodies the spirit of community and a passion for surfing. Founded by Lucas and Carlos, hailing from Portugal and Spain, respectively, their mission is to make alternative shapes accessible to the community and foster a culture of experimentation and shared knowledge.

Board Model: Love Goat
Board Details: Right here

The Goat Shed is nestled in the vibrant village of Sumner, New Zealand, a place steeped in surfing history and known as the home of numerous pioneers and legends in the surfboard-shaping world. The founders' love for the ocean, combined with a desire to connect with surfing on a deeper level, inspired them to create a humble shed where they could build their surf crafts and explore traditional and modern ideas.

The Love Goat—a mesmerising board by the Goat shed that we're thrilled to feature in this newsletter. The Love Goat is an extended twin pins design, reminiscent of the board Torren Martyn rides. It's The Goat Shed's interpretation of Ryan Lovelace's FM model, showcasing a venturi channel on the tail that culminates in a captivating spiral vee. This board truly shines when engaged in long, drawn-out turns at higher speeds while still allowing for snappy manoeuvres when pushing on the back. It's a masterpiece of surfboard craftsmanship. This shortboard, created with PU (Polyurethane) technology, boasts dimensions of 6’9” x 20 1/2" x 2 1/4".

With a round tail and twin fin setup, it offers the perfect blend of speed and manoeuvrability. The Futures compatibility ensures easy fin customization. Featuring 6+6oz top / 6oz bottom Fiber Glass glassing and a sanded finish, this board is as durable as it is stunning. Embrace the unique spray design and experience the exceptional ride of the Love Goat.

We are immensely grateful for the support and enthusiasm we receive from the Surf Neutral community. We encourage all surfers, shapers, and surf shops to contribute to our platform by uploading your exceptional boards. Let's continue to foster a culture of innovation, shared knowledge, and sustainable surfboard practices
