Board of the week! #27

Greetings, surfers!

We're excited to bring you another edition of our Board of the Week newsletter. This weeks number 27, we're featuring a special board made for Steven Sawyer by the renowned shaper Tim Crozier of Blackbird Surfboards in California.

The board is a stunning 5'5" PU twinfin with a round tail and a unique multicolored resin tint. It's glassed with a clear lamination of 5oz on the bottom and double 4oz on the deck, with rails that have been adapted to provide more drive from the bottom.

Shaper: Tim Crozier
Board Details: Right here

Steven Sawyer, a professional surfer from South Africa, was the lucky recipient of this custom board. He took it to the iconic Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay and put it to the test on the steep, endless walls. Suffice it to say, the board worked like a dream and allowed Steven to perform at his best.

But the real magic of this board lies in the craftsmanship of Tim Crozier. A lifelong lover of flight and surfing, Tim brings a unique perspective to his shaping.

He draws inspiration from the sensation of "flying" over and through water, and he names all of his boards after the Blackbird aircraft, the Paul McCartney song, and the story of Elijah being fed by ravens.

Tim is a full-time shaper and has been handshaping boards for over a decade. His tagline, "SLOW IS SMOOTH ⚡️ SMOOTH IS FAST 🏁," is a testament to his dedication to quality over quantity. He takes his time with each board, ensuring that it's perfect for the rider's style and preferences.

We're thrilled to feature Tim and his incredible work on our Board of the Week newsletter. If you're ever in the San Diego, California area, we highly recommend checking out Blackbird Surfboards and getting a board made by Tim. You won't be disappointed!
