This is a board made by Mark Spowy; Spowy used to shape his boards in Summerset West in the 80s. Spowy was on the Tompson surf team in Durban and has been surfing since his childhood. He was a Bluff local and a standout when Cave Rock was on fire. He moved to Cape Town, where he shaped his boards before coming to Jeffreys Bay.

Unfortunately, Marc Spowart committed suicide in 2012. His death sees another of SA’s finest craftsmen depart our world.

The board displayed is believed to be shaped in the 90s.
