Board of the week! #30

Hey Team,

we're excited to introduce Dom de Villiers, an artist, surfboard shaper, and environmentalist who creates sustainable surfboards under the brand tgthr tgthr. Dom's Wing Twin is a modern take on the classic Mark Richards wing twin fin, blending performance and shortboard elements with a classic rail and outline.

This shortboard is built with EPS technology, measuring 5’8” x 20 1/4" x 2 1/2", and features a Wing-Swallow tail and twin fin setup using FCS Fusion fin system. The glassing is 6+6oz top / 6oz bottom fiber glass, and the resin type is bio-epoxy with a waterpaper finish. Dom's signature design element is a single-color resin tint.

Model Story: Wing Twin
Dom's brand, tgthr tgthr, began as an art project while he was studying fine art in university. His artwork focused on the concept of togetherness and co-creation, which organically grew into making surfboards. The brand's goal is to create the most sustainable surfboards while maintaining aesthetics and functionality. For Dom, surfing is his ideal way of co-creating and being together with nature and friends, and he invites everyone to share his world of togetherness and co-creation.
At 24 years old, Dom has been shaping since 2019 and is a full-time shaper specializing in fishes and longboards. He hand shapes all of his boards and does his own glassing, using his love of surfing as inspiration. Dom's shaper friends have been a huge inspiration to keep him going, and he has shaped over 20 and less than 100 boards in his career so far.
The Wing Twin is a perfect board for those looking for a blend of performance and shortboard elements while maintaining classic style and functionality. Dom's use of sustainable materials and his dedication to co-creation and togetherness make him a shaper to watch in the future.

In addition to featuring the Wing Twin by tgthr tgthr, we wanted to remind our readers that we recently sent out a survey to surfers and shapers in our community. This survey aims to connect them more closely in the future and gather insights on their experiences and preferences. We're excited to hear feedback and use it to improve our community's connections. So stay tuned for more updates on this in our upcoming newsletters!

Do you have an awesome surfboard that you'd like to showcase? Share it with the Surf Neutral community by uploading it to your profile for a chance to be featured every week.
